Karen Swain is a visionary leader and accomplished executive serving as the President and CEO of Excelous, LLC, a dynamic Management and IT Consulting firm committed to driving innovation and excellence in the public sector. With a proven track record of strategic foresight and operational expertise, Karen has propelled Excelous to the forefront of the industry, leading the company to new heights of success and sustainability.

With over 25 years of experience in the public sector, Karen possesses a deep understanding of market dynamics, emerging trends, and continues to build synergistic relationships that create value for each of Excelous’ respected customers. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in fostering a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and continuous improvement, ensuring that Excelous remains agile and adaptive in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Under Karen’s guidance, Excelous has achieved significant milestones, including being recognized for its work by the Department of Health and Human Services as a 2022 Prime Contractor Small Business of the Year award nominee. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and passion for driving positive change have earned her widespread respect and admiration from colleagues, clients, and industry peers alike.

Prior to her role at Excelous, Karen spent 17 years in corporate America with top management consulting firms like Deloitte, BearingPoint and IBM. She successfully led large federal ERP training and organizational change management projects for Oracle, PeopleSoft and SAP applications. Karen is a Prosci-certified Organizational Change Management practitioner and is known for her strategic vision, strong business acumen, and ability to inspire teams to deliver exceptional results.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Karen has a profound passion for entrepreneurship and enjoys mentoring aspiring young women and men seeking career endeavors in business, higher education, or the workforce. She holds a B.S. Degree in Accounting from Florida A&M University and an MBA from Clark Atlanta University, complementing her practical experience.
